Zsa Zsa Gabor’s Palm Springs Home Listed for $3.8M

The hot pink Palm Springs, California estate of the late actress Zsa Zsa Gabor has hit the market for $3.8 million.

The gaudy glamorous estate was also home to her sister, Magda Gabor.

The socialite sisters separately occupied this sumptuously decorated compound for more than 30 years, on a high plain set among the mountains in the Little Tuscany region.

The custom-built residence measures 3,441 square feet and maintains the polygamous extravagance that defines Zsa Zsa’s public image. (The Budapest-born star of 1952’s “Moulin Rouge” had just 10 husbands in 99 years, the last of whom remained her husband until she passed away in 2016.)

Outside, the brick façade is painted like a Barbie Dreamhouse. The large, in-ground, mosaic tile pool has a statue standing at its center and is surrounded by a spacious stone deck with an abundance of black and white deck chairs that match the awning over the deck. There’s also a patio with a fire pit, and a lower level swath covered in artificial turf and “desert landscaping,” according to listing,

The enthusiasm inside is also not less. Stone floors and mirrors galore, a hot pink closet, a hot pink entry, hot pink carpeting, chandeliers, a kitchen with black cabinets — plus a wine fridge, a warming drawer and an original Hungarian rotisserie —and a bathroom with a yellow peacock wallpaper. In total, there are three bathrooms and three bedrooms. The primary bedroom has its own wing complete with an office, a dressing room, a makeup room, and an en-suite bath with dual vanities.

Those looking for a home full of stories and colours, have definitely found a contender. Not convinced? Maybe it’s worth a try anyway, because buying a house is somewhat like marrying a building, and in the words of Zsa Zsa, “A girl should marry for love, and stay married until until he finds her.”

Conrad Miller and Brandon Holland of Avenue 8 have the listing.
