Gap is suing Kanye West for $2 million failed collaborationClaiming that the embattled rapper made unapproved alterations to a Los Angeles rental property on which the landlord is trying to collect.
According to court documents obtained by The Post, Gap filed the claim in LA court last month against West, 45, and his Yeezy clothing line.
Art City Center, the company that claims to own the building leased to Gap, sued the clothing giant last year for “damaging” the property at 1360 E. 6th St.
Changes included building an exterior ramp into the parking lot on the east side; installing tunnels in the lot; removal of ceiling lights; building a wall; and cordoned off three bathrooms, according to the lawsuit.
Gap is trying to give money to West, who announced yeezy gap collaboration In 2020.
The suit against West claims, “by not repairing or restoring the foregoing alterations of the premises.” [West] Created without the involvement or approval of Gap, [West] breached the strategic agreement and cost Gap directly and proximately to repair and refurbish the complex.”
Gap West is being held responsible for any damage done to Art City, as well as seeking $2 million in compensatory damages for itself.
The Post has contacted West’s rep for comment. A spokesperson for Gap declined to comment, citing pending litigation.
