The Central Park Boathouse is on its way to reopen as the city’s Parks Department and New Operator Legends Hospitality Announced last winter.
But it will not happen all at once.
Boathouse Cafe, an 80-seat outdoor venue, will open later this month with a new menu.
So would boat rentals with an online booking system.
However, according to Legends representative Stacy Escudero, the larger dining room and bar overlooking the lake are “expected to open in late summer (August/September)”.
“The phased approach allows us to quickly restore a portion of union jobs that were previously lost, while also taking a reasonable amount of time to address the need for interior/structural/exterior renovations,” she said.
